Karen graduated from BYU a long time ago with a degree in Zoology, and how that has helped her quilting obsession we do not know. Karen started working and teaching at Elaine's the day it opened. She enjoys designing her own patterns and has named her pattern company (Nellie's Needle) after her mother-in-law who taught her to love quilts.
